Fête de la Musique 2008

June 13, 2008

Fete de la musiqueThis will be the second Fête de la Musique in Armenia..Launched in 1982 by the French Ministry for culture the Fête de la Musique is held on June 21 and is now celebrated in over 130 countries and 400 cities all over the five continents.

Its purpose is to promote music in two ways:
• Amateur and professional musicians are encouraged to perform in the streets. The slogan Faites de la musique (Make music), a homophone of Fête de la Musique, is used to promote this goal.
• Many free concerts are organized, making all genres of music accessible to the public. One of the caveats to being sancioned by the official Fete de la Musique organization in Paris that all concerts must be free to the public. It’s not required that musicians play for free, though many do so.
The Fête de la Musique is one of the few nights of the year where, under French law, there is no noise restriction. The musicians can play all night without fear of neighbours calling the police.

The more we love our friends, the less we flatter them. (Molière)

Գոնե ինձ մի պատմիր,
Թվիր միայն փաստերը,
Ես դրանցից տեղյակ չեմ,
Սակայն կռահելն էլ դժվար չէ:

The dust in the city is unbearable anymore. It is everywhere, a mild wind is able to raise it and bestrew you with a thick layer of dust. I tried to have a walk in parks, hoping for some green, but the dust caused of the constructions on the streets along the parks cover all the adjacent areas. I have allergy on dust, so I hold breathing whenever I have to pass those areas, alas, I can’t not breath for hours. I start itching, I take shower several times a day when I come home, and the water is slightly black as it flows down my body. Will this dust disappear some day from this city???? Sick!!

I need to escape, but have to breath this air for one more month or so. Can’t wait for the day to leave.
